Anwar Shahadat is a Bengali American journalist, writer, and filmmaker. He began his journalism career in Dhaka and continued it after migrating to the United States. In Dhaka, he published and edited a political weekly and later served as Chief Editorial Advisor to a U.S. weekly magazine. In addition to journalism, he is a novelist and fiction writer.

His work spans journalism, communication, and political social science, and he has taught at several universities across the United States. A former BTV producer from the BCS cadre, he later edited a weekly newspaper in New York. He also writes essays and translates literary works.
